If you are on holiday with children, sometimes it is difficult to come up with activities that you can do with children in the area. In this blog we give you some tips about which activities you can do in the surroundings of our accommodations!

The Krimmler waterfalls are a must to visit. The Krimmler waterfalls are located in the Hohe Tauern National Park, on the border of Tyrol and Salzburgrland. With a total fall height of 380 meters, the Krimmler waterfalls are the largest in Central Europe and the sixth highest in the world. The walk along the waterfall is on a wide and slowly ascending road. It is therefore also suitable for parents with a pram!

On the Rosenalm high above Zell am Ziller, there is a place full of adventure and fantasy. There is an extensive castle complex where children can enjoy themselves by climbing into the climbing tower, sliding down the sliding tower or working in the crane tower. There is a lookout tower, a treetop path, a wooden frog track, a water and sand playground and, not to forget: an adventure playground.

A beautiful white glacier, high mountains and crystal clear lakes, all this in Zell am See! In the summer you can rent a boat and sail on the Zeller See. You can also climb the Sigmund-Thun klamm and enjoy beautiful views. Do you really want to completely relax? Then you can visit the famous Tauern Spa, one of the most modern wellness oases in the Alps. There is a spa area especially for children with a large outdoor pool, 2 water slides, a toddler pool, a games room and a playground. So there is plenty to experience!

The Schmidolins Feuerstuhl is an adventurous hiking route and revolves around the dragon Schmidolin. The route starts at the mountain station of the Areitbahn 1. There are 11 stations on the route where children can have fun with climbing, play equipment and assignments. Entrance to Schmidolins Feuerstuhl is included in the gondola ticket.

The Drachental family park is the new attraction in the Wildschönau. Located in the center of Oberau, the park offers year-round entertainment. The highlight of the park is the exciting “Drachenflitzer”, the most modern Alpine Coaster in the world.

Is it really a hot summer day? Then you can go to the outdoor swimming pool in Oberau to cool off. Use of the Wildschönau outdoor pool is free with the Wildschönau Card. All our guests receive these in the accommodations Residenz Drachenstein and Kristall Plaza.

The Alpinolino mountain park is located on the Talkaser near Westendorf in the Brixental. Here the whole family can learn more about nature in an original way. For example, you can participate in a long jump competition with squirrels and hares. The marmot rally is also a must! You also have a themed hiking trail called “Himmelsteig”. At the end you conquer the top, which is an impressive experience, especially for children.

Are you crazy about animals? Then take a look at the Aurach Wildlife Park. More than 200 alps and exotic animal species such as kangaroos, llamas and Tibetan yaks live here. On an open area of 40 hectares, the animals roam freely and you can see them up close. In addition, the ‘Wildspierpark’ is a highlight for children!
